A trandisciplinary journey
Faust is alone and locked inside a box. He has already been damned. Faust is fleeing, not towards an outside world anymore, but within himself. He is on a quest to recover something urgent: his voice. We begin with a dialogue between Faust (the magnificent Helga Davis) and his shadow (the recorded voice of Robert Wilson).
On stage, one voice and 7 musicians perform a score which is at the crossroads of live, electronic and recorded music and performance as well as a visual environment, which brings us face to face with the illusions created by our own, contemporary Faust: Faust in a Box.
Andrea Liberovici has conceived a compelling a work of music, visual environmentc and theatre. A giant mirror frames the music, words and action. Liberovici’s experience in theatre, composition and visual mediacomes to maturity in a masterful work, in which many disciplines and talents become one single language, new and deeply expressive.
